I have been interested in the pre-PM days of Winston Churchill - how exactly he ended up as PM in May 1940, as well as in the British political system in general, and this new book covered both bases. It explained how unlike his colleagues in the British government Churchill was at the outset of the war - how alone he was in his complete refusal to even negotiate with Hitler - and explains how he put together a coalition Cabinet, and how it changed throughout the war. It covers the other members as well, as explains the backbiting and lack thereof throughout the war, ending in Churchill's colossal political miscalculation of calling a general election when he in 1945, and campaigning as he did.
Good book.
