Dead Wake - Erik Larson

I enjoyed this audiobook recently, but found it a pretty slow slog. Larsen is good at spending time with the stories of the many people who left recollections of the incident, but that really gets a little tiresome after a while. I keep wondering what this adds to the story, and am never sure that is really his point. Its just part of it. He also spends a lot of time with a detailed recitation of Woodrow Wilson's courtship of Edith Galt, which, as interesting as it is, was completely unrelated to the sinking of the Lusitania, or any reaction by Wilson to it on the United States' behalf. It is mandatory reading for anyone interested in the subject, but it would have been better in print, so I could have skipped over the slower parts.
