Listened to this audiobook after finishing Hastings' Bomber Command and sort of enjoyed it. It's very tightly focused on the Overlord invasion but without a lot of analysis on the planning or the high level decisions. Focuses heavily on the individual engagements as viewed by the participants.
Not really a good subject for an audiobook - you really needed maps and illustrations to tell the story. And from the beginning you know this is only a small part of the war, and even of the war in the West in 1944-45. But the analysis of the actions of the commanders, and especially Montgomery, was very interesting.
