Had not read anything specifically about the Bulge before, and enjoyed this new book by a British military historian. The author's background is as a British officer trained in the Cold War who had many opportunities to travel the Bulge battlefields and compare them to NATO's strategy for repelling a similar offensive by Soviet forces. This provided a useful real-world perspective, because he constantly provide a real-world analysis of the problems that the soldiers and commanders in the Bulge faced, and how well they met them.
