This book about a cross between James Bond, The Jasper Fforde Eyre Affair novels and H.P. Lovecraft got such a good review in the Dallas paper that I picked it up. It started kind of slow, but by the time it ended I was really getting to like the characters. The author ends up having a little too much fun letting the title character act out of character as the book goes along, but it sets up a nice little supernatural universe, and I look forward to more books in the series.
