Had a great time in Waco this past weekend at Baylor Homecoming. We watched the parade on a cold Saturday morning downtown (as you can tell, hot coffee makes you happier than a Nintendo), went to a family wedding shower, and watched Baylor beat Mizzou Saturday night.
But the highlight of the weekend may have been on the front page of the Waco paper Saturday when Baylor announced plans to build a replacement for their current 60 year old stadium located several miles south of the campus. The new stadium would be a horseshoe-shaped stadium with a beautiful view of Baylor Law School (as shown in the conceptual drawing below) across the law school's prominent water feature, sometimes referred to as the Brazos River. The site was actually originally proposed for the Bush presidential library, but since SMU was chosen for that, Baylor has been looking for another use.
The location is certainly a prime one, at the corner of IH-35 and the Brazos River. A "prime branding oppotunity", they call it...
