A Room With a View - E. M. Forster

I became interested in reading this a few weeks ago after the New York Times' travel section described its connection with Florence, a city Jamie and I have visited a couple of times.  The book itself is a really well-done send-up of the strict mores of Victorian English society, and that was interesting, but it was pretty hard work working my way through it.  I bought the Merchant Ivory production of it at the same time, and am curious how they dealt with the story.
Really hated this edition of the book by Seven Treasures - it's oversized and has a really obnoxious cover, given the book.
