Snow Crash - Neal Stephenson

Just finished this very imaginative sci-fi story set in a future where people interact in the
"Metaverse" and society has broken down into franchulates and burbclaves run by the Mafia and other groups.  Very, very creative, well-written, sometimes very funny, but in the end I had trouble following what exactly was happening as the author tried to turn some sort of Sumerian myth into a software (and biologic) virus.  Lost me somewhere towards the end.
