The Janissary Tree - Jason Goodwin

I read and liked Goodwin's previous books (Lords of the Horizons, On Foot to the Golden Horn) and thought a mystery with a eunuch PI sounded interesting. Turns out it was.  Although there were times I had trouble following what exactly was happening (the dialogue signalling or the descriptions lost me for a bit occasionally) I really liked the main character and the writing was excellent.  I look forward to reading more about Yashim Togalu.
