Mother's Day

We enjoyed Mother's Day at the house last month as well.  Here is Jamie with her boys, and one nice close-up of her with Collin.

Grayson's 8th birthday

Grayson actually had three parties for his eigth birthday.  The first was in my second grade class, where he had a Herbie cupcake cake.  next was a dinner at El Chico's with family where he got to wear the hat!  Finally, he had his real birthday party (for his friends) on Saturday at Kids Station in Longview, where he had a Herbie cake.

Jim's birthday

The Book of Air & Shadows - Michael Gruber

I got up early this morning to finish this book, which has been one of the better-written ones I've read lately.  I liked the plot (although it sort of creaked towards the end) but what I liked best were the characters.  Gruber has a real talent for creating characters, and the two first person narrators were extremely well-drawn and enjoyable to follow.  They ended up being a problem, actually, as I didn't like going back and forth between the two viewpoints. 
Overall a good book.
