I'm not sure quite what came over me, but Saturday night when we had nothing better to do I suggested to Jamie that we have a "family movie night" and go to the store and rent some movies we could all watch up in the movie room (referred to locally as "the purple room") with a big bowl of popcorn. Sounded like a good idea, right? So we rented this movie and Valiant (more on that later and herded everyone upstairs. The first problem was that we didn't have any popcorn - at least not full-sized bags. So Jamie had to pop five separate single-serve (I didn't even know there was such a thing) bags while the three boys slowly start destroying everything in the purple room (including each other). We parked the three boys in the front row and Jamie and I sat in the back and spent the next hour and a half screaming at them to sit down and be quiet. I'm not completely sure what the movie was about - something about penguins and cold and eggs. Ended up with crying boys, screaming parents, popcorn everywhere (both twins accidentally spilled their popcorn on Grayson, who was in the middle seat. That was actually the funniest party of the evening) and Jamie giving me that "this was your idea" look. I told her that I was sure the twins would be better as they got older, but she pointed out that Grayson was older, and it didn't seem to be helping.
It may be a while before I can talk her into this again.
