This one was good and bad. It was good in that I really enjoyed watching the movie again - this was the first movie I watched since the delivery of the theater room chairs. It surprised me how good the movie actually was, from the visuals to the acting (hard not to think Russell Crowe did a terrific job, and there's no one in the film that didn't) to the direction and editing. The bad was that I was really looking forward to watching the documentaries about recreating ancient Rome on screen - and there aren't any. Not a single documentary feature - just a selection of scenes that were not added. Only tonight when I was looking for an image of the movie for this post did I discover that the fully loaded DVD is coming out next month - three disks with an extended edition and a 3 1/2 hour documentary on the making of the movie. Oh well.
