Back in May 2012 a jury in U.S. Magistrate Judge Judge Roy S. Payne's court in Marshall returned a verdict of $15.34 million for the plaintiff in the Pact XPP Tech. v. Xilinx & Avnet patent case. All five claims were found infringed by both defendants, none invalid as anticipated or obvious, yes on willful infringement, and damages of $15,399,900.
Earlier this morning, Judge Payne entered judgment of infringement as to these five claims, awarded damages for the amount set forth by the jury through the date of trial, as well as enhanced damages for Xilinx' willful infringement in the amount of $23,099,900, and attorneys fees in the amount of $2,283,681, as well as prejudgment and post judgment interest, and court costs. The plaintiffs request for an ongoing royalty and supplemental damages was severed into a separate cause of action.
