I found a couple more photographs in my files of the current Marshall courthouse back in its pre-1940 post office days. The aerial photo on the left is pre-1940 expansion, and shows the post office's delivery area in the back, with a nice little green space adjacent.
To the right is a closeup of activity at that delivery area, where the mail carriers pause for a portrait with their trusty steeds. Again, the windowed wall you're looking at is now the south wall of the district courtroom.
