Thursday's lunch speaker was our new Fifth Circuit Chief Judge Carl Stewart. After lunch, Judge Ward moderated a panel with Michael Gibson, George Pappas and Robert Van Nest on closing argument. That was followed by a panel moderated by Merrie Spaeth on what attorneys should and should not file or say, with panelists Judge Carl Stewart, Judge William Bryson of the Federal Circuit, and Judge Rodney Gilstrap.
After the afternoon break, David Fisher moderated a panel on ethical considerations of the client chase with panelists Guy Harrison, Luke Ashley, Geoff Eaton and Mike Miller. The final panel of the day was East Texas Ethics and Etiquette which was a discussion of survey results of what to do and not do in East Texas, moderated by Lance Lee, with panelists Judge John Love, Amanda Abraham & Jennifer Truelove.
After the evening break, the conference attendees will return for the Chief Judge and President's receprion and dinner, featuring Baylor University president Ken Starr.
