One of the weblog readers that I'm had the pleasure of working with recently is Professor
Doug Lichtman, who teaches at the law school at UCLA. Professor Rob Merges
from Berkeley, Professor John Duffy from GWU
, and Professor Lichtman recently sat down and sat down and recorded a one-hour audio podcast about the recent Bilski opinion. They have posted it for free, and in downloadable form, on the Web at the above link. Merges and Duffy have helpful perspectives, not only because they are prominent patent academics, but also because they were each involved in the case. (I understand Professor Duffy was one of the four lawyers invited to present oral argument, and of course we all know him as the guy that invalidates stuff as a hobby).
And, just to make things better for listeners, any lawyer who listens can get CLE credit (again, for free) in New York, California -- and Prof. Lichtman tells me that he soon expects to be able to add Ohio, Illinois, Texas, Delaware, and Washington state.
The audio is part of an on-going series of intellectual property podcasts Prof. Lichtman is doing with senior academic and industry guests. At the site is an archive and a list of future programs, in case you are interested. All are free, downloadable, and come with the CLE too.
